Introduction:

John Thackara is a global thought leader, writer and event producer on social innovationand sustainability. He is a senior fellow of RCA and was the director of RCA's researchFor more than forty years he has focused on the practical steps taken by communitiesto realize a sustainable future. His is the authors of the books such as How to Thrive inthe Next Economy-Designing tomorrow's world today, In the Bubble-Designing in aComplex World, etc. John curated the celebrated Doors of Perception conference for20 years - first in Amsterdam, later across India - and was commissioner of the UK sociainnovation biennial Dott07 and the French desian biennial City Eco Lab. Since then, with afocus on social, ecological and relational design, Thackara has curated place-basecxskool workshops in 20 countries and has lectured in more than forty.
